A Trip To New Zealand?

While checking out the REI website, Kathleen noticed that they offered guided tours to New Zealand!  We have both always wanted to go there, but its a bit out of our budget - from $4,899 per person dbl for 11 days.  That doesn't include airfare and misc expenses.  The New Zealand discussion prompted a conversation about another trip idea, one that we might actually be able to afford.
